The Palladium Cinema was opened on 1st September 1928 with “L'lle d'Amour”. It was operated by J. Begu and T. Barbery. It was closed in 1952 and was demolished.
A triple screen cinema named Rio Cinema was later built on the site. It closed on 11th April 1989 and has been demolished.
