Rex Theatre

The New West End Rex Theatre opened on October 30, 1924 with Ralph Lewis in “The mail Man”. It was the first theatre in the Bloomer Amusement Company (later known as BAC) chain to be wired for sound.

The Rex Theatre closed in 1953 and was demolished in 1982. A plaque in the lobby of the now-shuttered BAC Quad in Belleville commemorated the Rex Theatre.
