Opened on May 19, 1949 with Bob Hope in “My Favorite Brunette” and Ray Milland in “California”. It was operated by Joseph Miller. Closed in 1965. Demolished right after closing for a Two Guys Department Store and Albany Public Food Market. The stores were later converted to offices, which they remain to this day. A replacement Drive-In, the Tri-City Twin, was built almost directly across the street right after this drive-in closed. The Tri-City is also now closed and demolished.

Motion Picture Exhibitor, July 15, 1964: “Menands Drive-In, at Menands-Troy Bridge, reopened under the "new ownership and management” of Carl Roupp and William Thompson, formerly two of the four partners in Menands Drive-In Theatre, Inc. There had been a corporate dispute since last summer, and the automobiler did not reight (sp?) this spring for its 15th season."
