Built in 1858 as a city hall and a 1,000-seat theatre. Seating is provided in orchestra and two balcony levels. It closed as a live theatre in 1928 with a production of the “Ziegfeld Follies of 1928”.
In 1983 it reopened as the Thalian Hall Center for the Performing Arts. It was closed in March 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic. It reopened in October 2020 screening first run movies. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
