Strand Theatre

Located across from the Ramleh tram station in downtown Alexandria. The Strand Theatre was opened by April 1950 and was a first run cinema screening American & British movies. It is operated by Tommy Christo & Co. Seating is provided for 1,025, with 796 in the stalls and 206 in the balcony with 23 seats in the loge. The original projectors were by Simplex and a sound system by RCA. In 2020 the Strand indoor cinema is closed.

There is an open air roof cinema which has around 300-seats, located on the roof of the Strand Theatre which is still operating. It screens Egyptian, Arabic & foreign films.
