Located in the Cardonald district to the west of the city. The Westway Cinema was opened on 8th April 1935. It was operated by George Smith & James Welsh. The auditorium ran parallel to Paisley Road West, with the entrance on the right of the building. It was equipped with a Western Electric(WE) sound system. On 7th January 1950 it was taken over by the Singleton Cinemas Ltd. chain. It was closed on 3rd February 1959.
It was converted into the Flamingo dance hall. Later it converted into a Mecca Bingo Club. It closed in early-2003 and the building was demolished. The site is now used as a car park for Morrisons supermarket.
