‘Moving Pictures’ are shown on the 1907 Sanborn, in a rather typical one story brick commercial building.
This first appears on the 1907 map, replacing two small wooden shacks on the 1900 map. Like most built during this period, the space is quite deep and narrow. The last section is built up to two stories. Given the plan shown on the map, it’s likely the screen was at the rear of the one story section.
Another early-theater that did not meet with success, the 1914 map shows the space as home to a tin shop. With an unattractive postwar façade, the building is still used for commercial purposes, but appears to be vacant.
