Pineville Drive-In

Pineville’s first Drive-In took place on May 8th, 1952 when it opened its doors and screened Dan Duryea in “Al Jennings of Oklahoma” along with 2 cartoons and a comedy. It was operated by Charles Cassinelli.

On June 10, 1961, the proprietor, James Gibson, reported that a $60 bill was missing from a pinball machine, a cigarette box, and a jukebox. All coin boxes on the 3 items were damaged. W. W. Bolt and Paul Goode of the Pineville Police Department responded to the call and were later investigated for an issue on an unknown suspect.

The theater closed in 1997.

The address may not be correct.

88 Pinnacle Avenue is the current location of the Pinnacle Drive-In which is a small eating establishment. A 1967 aerial photo shows buildings on that location as well, so I do not believe there was a drive-in theater there.

The drive-in should be on the aerial photo, but I have not found it. That only means that I cannot see it, but given the location it must have been a small drive-in.

Looks like it was still standing in a 1986 aerial
