Kansas Drive-In

A drive-in theatre that used to be in operation in the Stoney Point district to the west of Kansas City. The Kansas Drive-In was operated by Rube Finkelstein and opened on August 28, 1947 with Cornel Wilde in “Homestretch”. It had a capacity for 600-cars. By 1952 it had increased its capacity to 1,000-cars. Rube Finkelstein was still the operator in 1955. It was closed around late-1972.

The Kansas Drive-In opened on August 28th, 1947, and closed in 1972. Grand opening ad posted.

Yes, it actually closed sometime in late 1972 or early 1973 according to the Kansas City Times.
