Opened in 1909 as the North Pole Theatre, a vaudeville & silent movie house for African-American audiences. It was operated by John T. Gibson, who in 1912 renamed it the Southern Auditorium Theatre. It was closed in 1914 and was listed ‘For Sale’ in a sheriff’s auction during World War I. It appears to have been converted for other retail purposes. It has since been razed.
