Isis Theatre

In May 1909 the Idaho Republican reported W.E. Kestner was granted a permit to build an addition to the Isis Theatre. The theatre, not named, was listed on Sanborn Maps 1911 at 151 Main Street, across from the train depot.

The New Isis Theatre opened October 9, 1911, with the Vitagraph film “Battle Hymn of the Republic”, starring Ralph Ince and was advertised in the Blackfoot Optimist.

Moving Picture World April 7, 1923, reported the Isis Theatre was completely destroyed by fire recently and will be rebuilt by owner L. Manders. In 1927 the Pocatello Tribune mentioned an Isis Theatre on Pacific Street in Blackfoot, operated by Mary A. Johnson.

On the 1949 Sanborn Maps the building was listed as a paint store, as it is today, and the map footprint was the same as the current aerial footprint.
