The Empress Theatre opened in 1916, built for August Eugene “Cap” Lathrop and located on W. 4th Avenue. In 1917, a 2/11 Kimball organ was installed in the Empress Theatre (which was removed before it closed in the early-1950’s).
Today the building was destroyed in the 1964 earthquake.
