This was a replacement for the St. Vital 6 in another part of the St. Vital shopping center in the south of Winnipeg (it has its own page on Cinema Treasures).
The SilverCity St. Vital was opened in 1998 by Famous Players. Its first 4 screens opened on July 17, 1998 and the remaining 6-screens opened on December 18, 1998. In 2005 it was taken over by Cineplex.

As SilverCity, the first four screens opened on July 17, 1998, with Mulan, Armageddon, The Truman Show, and Lethal Weapon 4 as its opening films. The remaining six screens opened on December 18, 1998, with The Waterboy, A Bug’s Life, Enemy of the State, The Prince of Egypt, The Rugrats Movie, Star Trek: Insurrection, and You’ve Got Mail.
