The Gay 90’s Drive-In opened in Uvalde before October 1950, because that’s when Boxoffice wrote that “Jack A. Pickens, owner and operator of the Gay Nineties Drive-In, Uvalde, had booked a stage act for a return visit”. It was listed with a 350-car capacity.
The 1950-51 Motion Picture Almanac list the Gay 90’s Drive-In as one of two drive-ins in Uvalde (with the Stardust Drive-In being the other). The MPA listed a capacity of 400 cars and the owner as Video Independent Theatres.
The 1952 Theatre Catalog included the Gay Nineties D.I. in Uvalde, owner R. I. Payne, Theatre Entrs., Inc., capacity 350.

I cannot find this theater at all, but I found some clues on its history. This goofy-named theater was either short-lived or probably closed after a decade, because I saw no sign of the drive-in with the except of the Stardust in the 1983 aerial. However, there is a possibility that the drive-in may be located on 90. Although I found nothing there, there were paths that remind me of entrance and exit ramps just west of town on 90, but a 1974 topo says nothing about it. Otherwise, I clearly see nothing on 90 in the remainder of the west and all of east though.
Found it! It was on the east side of town on US 90, of course, and it looked intact in April 1953. The approximate Google Maps address is 4045 East Main Street, Uvalde, TX. There’s an electrical substation on the site today.
The theater was completely gone in a 1983 aerial, so it was either short-lived or it operated for a decade or two.
