The 1952 Theatre Catalog included the “Motor Vue Drive-In (Coos Bay)” under Empire, which would merge with Coos Bay 13 years later. Its owners were William Graeper and Pat Patterson of the Oregon Theatres Co-Op. It had room for 392 cars.
On April 30, 1955, Boxoffice noted that manager Robert Mattecheck of the “Motor-Vu Theatre” in Coos Bay was widening the screen for CinemaScope.
A 1954 aerial photo showed a drive-in cut out of the woods east of Empire. It was still intact in 1982, but razed in 1994. A Boys & Girls Club occupies the site today.

I’d guess that the Motor Vu opened in late summer 1950, based on this.
Boxoffice, Sept. 8, 1951: “The Motor Vu Theatre staff at Coos Bay, Ore., celebrated the ozoner’s first birthday this summer. One night a big cake, donated by Gamer’s bakery, was cut by the staff for patrons.”
