The Skyway Drive-In was opened on April 17, 1950 with Myrna Loy in “The Red Pony”. It was operated by Inland Industries in what was then the village of North Kamloops. It was owned by Stan Creech in 1953, when he added an enclosed walk-in area seating 250.
In late-1961, Creech developed lung problems and sold the Skyway to Odeon Theatres.
The Skyway Drive-In was closed on September 16, 1980 with John Belushi in “The Blues Brothers” & Olivia Newton-John in “Xanadu”. It was replaced by a shopping mall in 1982. The Northills Shopping Centre stands today on the former Skyway Drive-In site.

The Skyway was the first drive-in in the Kamloops opening its gates on April 17, 1950 with “The Red Pony” (plus a Bob/Bing short, unnamed cartoon, and a travelogue all about Banff, Alberta). The Skyway is last operated by Canadian Odeon and closed for the final time September 16, 1980 with “Xanadu” and “The Blues Brothers”.
