Located in Bellmead, to the northeast of Waco, TX. The Oaklawn Drive-In opened on March 17, 1951 with Rod Cameron in “Short Grass”. It had a capacity for 600-cars and 241-seats for walk-in patrons. It was still open in 1958, but had closed and was demolished by 1970. It was owned by Newman Theatres.

As late as 1981 the remnants of the drive-in were still visible, including the outline, ramps, and foundations of the projection booth/concession stand and screen.
Today, a Motel 6 sits on part of the property with the rest being undeveloped. But there is no trace of the drive-in remaining.

A closer address is 1503 New Dallas Hwy, Waco, TX.
This puts it on the southside of the property about where the ticket booth once sat.
A 1958 aerial shows the drive-in operational. By 1970, it had been demolished. It remained an open field until a Motel 6 was placed on the eastern side of the property.
The highway was never constructed over the property. But Hogan Lane was build on the edge of the east side. Despite most of the property not being developed, there is no trace of the drive-in remaining.
