Cozy Theatre (2)

This new building replaced the prior location of the Cozy Theatre in 1916, in a newly constructed building. Rather modest in scale, this was one of two storefronts constructed out of tile brick.

Although it appears quite small from the front, the slope down to the river allows a much deeper structure in the rear (although doubtless prone to flooding). The facade is a simple but attractive set of three arches, with entrances to the side of a ticket booth in the central arch. Small light bulbs ornament each arch.

This theatre apparently closed sometime in the 1970’s. The building is in fine shape, and still appears original but for a missing sign or marquee. It seems to be used as a residence.
