The Dickinson Theatre is a short-lived movie house located inside the Elledge Arcade building in West Plains, and possibly the shortest-lived theatre the Dickinson Theatres chain faced.
It opened on August 29, 1931 with Bela Lugosi in “Dracula” along with an unnamed cartoon and an unnamed comedy reel featuring installations of RCA sound.
The Dickinson Theatre closed on March 2, 1932 after all of its equipment was purchased by A.W. Landis, who was an attorney for a client.
The Elledge Arcade building (built in 1913) still stands in 2023.
