The Aeon Cinema Ebina closed for the final time on May 17, 2026, because of the mall’s reconstruction. Because of its closure, Screen 7 presented a special screening of “Return of the Jedi” dedicating to the theater being the first in Japan to feature THX sound, complete with the THX logo before the movie.
A total of 471 people attended the final screening presented by general manager Shoji Kato and Aeon Entertainment President Nobuyuki Fujiwara. Right after the film concluded, the audience and presenters chanted “May The Movie Be With You”.
This was also the first movie theater to open by the Warner Mycal Cinemas chain.
