The Sundown Drive-In had opened by 1950 when it was operated by Robb & Rowley-United Inc. In 1951 it was operated by Rowley United Theatres Inc. They were still the operators in 1957. It was still open in 1970, operated by an independent operator.

A closer address is 871 State Hwy 70, Rotan, TX.
The drive-in was located immediately to the south of this address. The entrance road no longer exists, so Google Maps does not have an exact match on HWY 70 at this time.
The drive-in was located southeast of the town along State HWY 70. it was on the east side of the highway and appears intact in a 1966 aerial.
By 1984, it had long been demolished. Today, it is an open field that is private property. There is no trace of the drive-in remaining.
