Alhambra

Located in Saint-Etienne, to the southwest of Lyon. The 2,000-seat Alhambra was opened in 1907. In 1929 it was taken over by Pathe. In 1931 it was taken over by Gaumont and was remodeled in an Art Deco style. The seating capacity had been reduced to 1,311-seats in orchestra and balcony.

In the 1970’s it was converted into an 8-screen cinema. In 2000 it became a 10-screen cinema with 7-screens in the former orchestra level and 3-screens in the former balcony level, where one of the screens has 500-seats. In 2014 Gaumont sold the cinema to an independent operator and it reverted back to its original Alhambra name.
