The cinema was opened in the fall of 2019 in the brand new Mall of Tripla shopping centre. This was the second theater of the Estonian Cinamon chain to open in Helsinki. The company had previously opened a theater in the premises of the Redi shopping centre in Kalasatama in the fall of 2018 (it has its own page on Cinema Treasures). The cinema was only in operation for a few months until it had to close its doors for months due to Covid-19 restrictions.
In the summer of 2021, Cinamon announced that it would close its operations in Tripla because of the financial losses caused by the Covid pandemic. The cinema was then taken over by the Finnish cinema chain BioRex.
