Opened on 13th November 2012 as Golden Village’s 11th location, the six screen GV City Square boasts many firsts for a cinema in Singapore including booth-less projection and an auto gate at the usher point for QR code scanning (which has since been removed). Interestingly, this cinema also sits on the site of the former New World Amusement Park, which itself had four cinemas operated by Shaw Organisation.
After a naming competition shortly after its opening, the 42-seater all couple seating Hall 4 was renamed as Gemini.
