Cathay Cineplex West Mall

Opened in December 1998 by Eng Wah Organisation, Eng Wah West Mall features 6-screens and 1,378 seats, all of which were equipped with Director’s Club seating, which are sofa seats placed at the rear of each hall.

It was renamed to WE Cinemas West Mall in April 2011 following a rebranding of the cinema chain. Originally slated to undergo renovations in that same year, it was postponed to 2012 and eventually ceased operations in October that year.

The premises was subsequently taken up by Cathay Organisation in November 2012, and opened in the following February as Cathay’s first location in western Singapore with a reduced seating capacity of 1,006 seats. All of the halls feature Elite Club seats at the rear of each hall, which are motorised seats that can be activated at the cinema’s box office.

In October 2017, all of Cathay’s cinema assets including this theatre, were sold to MM2 Asia Ltd. The Cathay Cineplex West Mall was closed on 21st February 2025 due to the lease expiring.
