Located in Leer in northern Germany, in a district named Ostfriesland, close to the border with Netherlands. Gerhard Kruck of Bremen opened Leer’s Uranium Theater in the late-1940’s, despite Leer suffered only very small damage during World War II (more commonly due to neighboring Emden’s 1944 bombings). The Uranium Theatre originally sat 400 seats, but was upgraded to 480 seats when an unused stage hall was installed in 1953.

Last operated by Heinrich Buschmann (or Frido Buschmann), Buschmann closed the Uranium Theater in the late-1970’s, exactly a few years right after he expanded the larger Deli-Lichtspiele into a triplex nearby. He added a fourth screen in dedication to the old Uranium Theater a short time afterward.
