Tivoli Theatre

Heinrich Buschmann opened his second movie theater in Leer, known as the Tivoli Theatre, in 1927 due to its popularity of his nearby Palace Theatre. It had a capacity of 671 seats, and the Tivoli Theatre was also the first theatre in Leer to install CinemaScope in 1954.

The Tivoli Theatre closed in 1963 after Buschmann received an attractive rental offer from the then-new grocery store chain known as “Aldi”. The building was demolished in 1988 to make way for a parking lot.
