Electric Theatre

This theater appears on the 1912 Sanborn, in an old two story brick commercial building. This was constructed between 1884 and 1887, and contained three storefronts below a hall. Early maps call it the Arnott Building, but by 1905 it is called the Messenger Building. The 1905 map shows the center space (later the theatre) as part of a furniture store.

The theatre was a ground floor operation, and would have been fairly narrow. Later maps are not available, but this likely closed to be replaced by one of the other theatres listed. At some point the second floor was removed.

The building was used as retail, and looked rather shabby. It has now been spruced up and is home to a screen printing company.
