The Lyric Theatre was opened by 1913 in a tall one story brick storefront that was part of a block of buildings constructed in 1911 after a fire destroyed most of downtown. The building has a brick facade, but the rear wall at least is rough local stone.
The theatre was slightly remodeled in the 1930’s, but retained the typical appearance of a modest rural theatre. By 1941 the name was changed to Dream Theatre, and it remained open until 1974. It appears to have been vacant afterward. It was very shabby until sometime after 2010, when it was given a fresh coat of paint. It remains vacant, and likely in rather precarious shape.

In November, 1941, Dream Theatre operator Morris V. Beisner had several capsule movie reviews published by Motion Picture Herald.
Film Daily’s issue of January 7, 1947 had this item: “Glasco, Kas.—A son named Robert Rex has been born to Mr. and Mrs. Morris V. Beisner. He is the operator of the Dream Theater here and the Delpheum in Delphus, Kas.”
The August 20, 1949 issue of Boxoffice noted the sale of the Dream Theatre at Glasco, Kansas to Ed McCellan by H. W. Baldwin.
