Beaufort Theatre

The Beaufort Theatre appears to have launched on February 24, 1936 with “The Pay Off.” The theatre screen was widened in the 1950’s to accommodate CinemaScope titles. During a 1960 screening of “The Ten Commandments,” a patron in the balcony shouted, “Jesus.. if birds can fly, so can I” before injuring himself and a patron in a leap from the balcony to the main floor.

The Beaufort Theatre appears to have operated to the end of its 30-year lease and was offered for lease or sale early in 1966.
