Air Dome

This theatre appears on the 1911 Sanborn, replacing some wooden storefronts on the 1905 map. ‘Air Dome’ is likely not the name, but a designation by the surveyor. This was a very well equipped outdoor theatre, with a substantial tin-clad stage and picture house/entry. A canvas roof provided shade and some protection from the rain.

This was a short-lived operation, and by 1914 a new indoor theatre the White Way Theatre had been constructed on this site (it has its own page on Cinema Treasures).
