Opened in 1947 as the Cine-Teatro Neiva (named after its owner Joaquin Oliveira Neiva). It was closed in 1986. Most on the facade is faced with pink marble.
It was acquired by the City Council and reopened on June 27, 2009. It now has two auditoriums seating 567 & 120. It is home to the Curtas Vila do Conde, an international short film festival.
