The Yarmouth Twin Cinemas opened in the K-Mart Plaza (just east of the current Cineplex) on December 22, 1978, with Anthony Hopkins in “Magic” and Harrison Ford in “Force 10 from Navarone” with the largest screen being split up in the early-1990’s. It closed in 2005 just before the new Empire Studio opened just west of the theatre.
