Alpha 3 Twin Cinema

The Holiday Manor Shopping Center launched theatre-less in 1963. That changed when Alpha View Corporation opened its third location here in 1971. The original Alpha 1 Theatre launched in 1970. The Alpha 2 opened in 1971 in the Indian Trail Shopping Center at the same time as the Alpha 3 opened at 210 Holiday Manor.

Alpha 3 showed some art and foreign films - enough to get it in trouble with picky local filmgoers who objected to some of the racier content. In 1975, the auditorium was split into two becoming the Alpha 3 Twin Cinema. The company also added the Alpha 4 Cinemas 4-5-6-7.

Operator Bruce Shinbach closed up the Alpha 3 Twin Cinema on July 27, 1982 despite the theater having a strong final six months.
