The Alhambra Theatre opened December 22, 1911 with a benefit movie. It competed with the five-year old Nickelodeon and the Park Theatre which was a live venue. Under new operator, Frank Beherns, the venue reopened as the Savoy Theatre with a new Simplex projector along with three-reel films.
The Savoy Theatre closed up on March 28, 1914. Beherns moved to the new Audubon Theatre. Meanwhile Henry Kramer took over the Savoy Theatre on January 12, 1915 converting it into a retail space for Seiffert Electric. The building housing the Alhambra Theatre turned Savoy Theatre has since been demolished.

Sorry - New opening ‘graph
The Grand Crystal Theatorium opened September 5, 1908 in the Stanley Building with motion pictures, illustrated songs with an admission price of five cents for all times. By 1909, vaudeville had been added to the film programming. The nearby Rex Confectionery served as the Grand Crystal’s de facto concession stand. J.C. Rogers took on the venue late in 1909 changing its name to the People’s Theatre at its January 24, 1910 grand reopening. Its motto was “Always a good show… sometimes a great one.” The People’s moniker remained until new operators took it over with another new name in December of 1911.
