Bentley Theatre

This theatre appears on the 1912 Sanborn. It was located in a single story brick storefront which likely dated to around 1900.

The 1914-15 American Motion Picture Directory lists a theatre which was almost certainly this one. The 1928 Yearbook lists an Art Theatre and a Crystal Theatre, both seating 400, which is a ridiculous oversupply for a town then just under 700 people. These must have been larger buildings elsewhere in town.

Clearfield has suffered a collapse in population, and downtown is a dwindling collection of buildings, mostly vacant. The buildings on this corner were demolished long ago, and a small park is located here.
