C.L. Hackworth opened the Isabelle Theatre in 1912 in downtown Stevenson. On April 25, 1930, the Isabelle Theatre management said it was moving to sound films to remain viable but closed soon thereafter.

The theatre was reopened by C.E. “Tim” Timberlake. Like many small town theatres, the Isabelle Theatre was challenged by the onset of television. It went out of business on December 6, 1955 with Jack Palance in “Kiss of Fire”. The building was repurposed for retail and was a restaurant in the 2020’s.
