The New Princess Theatre opened its doors by Mrs. Edith M. Fordyce on October 4, 1935 with Clark Gable in “Call Of The Wild” along with two short comedies, one of which is the Billy Gilbert comedy “Hail Brother”.

Some of the original installations include Simplex projection and RCA high fidelity sound. The building measures 40x140ft long and originally housed 490 seats (with room for an additional 100 more seats). Some of the building features include Celotex walls and Velour draperies in the auditorium. Inside the lobby contains “The Brown Derby”, a confectionary restaurant operated by assistant manager B.O. Bird, where theatergoers enjoy relaxation and refreshments before each attraction.

The Princess Theatre closed in the late-1950’s.
