Theater

This theater appears on the August 1911 Sanborn. It was located in a narrow tin-clad wooden building, which may well have originally been located on Delaware Street. The 1905 map shows an identical structure where the mattress factory building is today, and used as a bowling alley and pool room.

Edna does not appear in the 1914-15 AMPD, but as it was such a small town, it may have been overlooked. The 1928 map is not available online, and this was probably not the Community Theatre listed in the 1926 Yearbook.

It’s hard to tell exactly where this was, since everything on the block has changed. I believe it was located either where a 1924 telephone exchange is, or perhaps at the site of the small garage next door.
