Kingstree Drive-In

The Kingstree Drive-In opened its gates in late-May 1952 by the brother team of Marion W. and Wilder S. Funk, with a total capacity of 150 cars.

Unlike most drive-ins, the Kingstree Drive-In has a special effect for its screen tower. The 70ft “moonlight” tower with a 35x50ft screen featured twin heads and gives enough light for the patrons to park without any usage of vehicle headlights.

The Kingstree Drive-In closed during the 1970’s and was demolished by 1980.
