The Westport Cinema 3 in the Baxter part of Brainerd opened its doors by Tentelino Theatres on May 17, 1985 with Cher in “Mask” (plus major studio preview of Chevy Chase in “Fletch”), Matthew Broderick in “Ladyhawke” and Chuck Norris in “Code of Silence” in screen order.
Cinemaland Theatres of Minneapolis took over the theater in May 1989, and was followed by Mann Theatres later on. The Westport Cinema 3 closed for the final time on October 27, 2004.
