The MOVIX Kashihara opened its doors by Shochiku Multiplex Theaters on June 27, 2001 featuring 9 screens and 2,025 seats. It was closed on August 31, 2014. United Cinemas purchased the vacant building and the building immediately went into major remodeling.
United Cinemas would later opened their own 9-screener at the site of the former MOVIX on December 18, 2015, which has its own Cinema Treasures page.
