Vaudelle Theater

The Vaudelle Amusement Company opened the Vaudelle Theater on March 15, 1907, at 313 South Walnut Street. (A later advertisement says 321 South Walnut.) On December 21, 1907, Thomas C. Lacey, who’d previously run the Palace Theater, and Addison Bodkin purchased the theater. On March 1, 1928, Lacey re-opened the short-lived New Columbia Theater “just across the street” at 312 South Walnut Street. It closed in June 1928. The Vaudelle faired much better, lasting until August 1941.
