The Otaru Premier Cinema 1 & Alpha opened its doors on November 28, 1991 as a twin-screen Toho theater located on the fifth floor of Marui Imai Marsa in Otaru. Screen 1 housed 99 seats while Screen Alpha housed 46 seats. It was operated by Ikeda Kogyo and its system of sharing the projection room and ticket booth between the two screens was revolutionary.

A third screen was added on November 18, 1994, and was renamed the Otaru Premier Cinema 1-2-3. This didn’t last long, and the theater closed on March 10, 1999 when Warner Mycal Cinemas opened their nearby Warner Mycal Cinemas Otaru, which later became the Aeon Cinema Otaru.
