The Oakbrook Cinema opened its doors on October 2, 1982 with “Amityville II: The Possession” in Screen 1 and “An Officer And A Gentleman” in Screen 2. Both screens also opened with children’s matinees, which were “Magic Of Lassie” in Screen 1 and “Adventures Of Tom Sawyer” in Screen 2.

It was originally owned and operated by the husband-and-wife team of John and Sharon Stevenson, but both later help construct the nearby Cinemark Movies 8 in 1990 that originally planned to open with four screens. On November 15, 1990, the twin-screen Oakbrook Cinema closed for the final time when the nearby Movies 8 opened the following day.

I cannot confirm if this was briefly last operated by Cinemark, but any more information about it will be greatly appreciated.
