The Westwood Mall 4 opened its doors on October 28, 1971 by AMC. Although the Westwood Mall changed its name to Mariner Mall in 1983, the Westwood Mall 4’s name was retained until January 10, 1986, and was renamed the Mariner Mall 4. AMC operated the theater until May 28, 1992 when Carmike took the business over, and Carmike operated the theater until its final closure on January 5, 1999.

It was demolished right afterward and a Lowe’s Home Improvement store was built at the former theater’s site.
