The September 6, 1952 issue of Boxoffice ran an article about Morganfield’s Sunset Drive-In, which had opened “recently” at the junction of highways 60 and 141. It was built on a sloping hill with the 40x45-foot screen at the bottom. J. S. Corbett owned the Sunset Drive-In, which could hold 400 cars.
A 1955 aerial photo showed a drive-in west of the intersection of US 60 and Kentucky 141 about 5 miles east of Morganfield. The drive-in was still intact in 1968 but had fallen into disrepair by 1982. A trucking company occupies the site today.
