Imperial Theater

The Oriental Moving Picture Show was opened in an existing building on September 21, 1908 by Tom Jocelyn after being displaced from his Edison Theatre.

The interior was decorated with murals of an oriental nature.

Business was reported as doing well. None-the-less it was sold in 1909. Before the end of the year the new owners took the projector and other equipment and left the state, presumably owing back rent.

Although the ‘For Rent’ notice was posted in 1909 the only reference to new management does not appear before 1914 when it emerged as the Imperial Theater.

Closed in 1916.
