Theater

This theater is shown as a ‘Cheap Theatre’ on the 1911 Sanborn. It was located in an old two story brick building, which was constructed sometime before 1884. The 1905 map shows a grocery here.

If this theater survived into 1914-15, it was likely the Elite Theatre. It had definitely closed by 1923, when the map shows the building used for retail.

The building today is in decent shape, but has a very plain facade from about 1910-20, along with an ugly ground floor and covered windows. It is an insurance office.
