Bavaria Kino

Located in the east inner city district of Mitte at the intersection of Friedrichstrasse and Taubenstrasse within the Bavaria House office building. The UT Friedrichstrasse was opened by Union Theatres on 2nd September 1913 with Giuseppe Becce in “Richard Wagner”(aka The Life and Works of Richard Wagner"). It had 546-seats on the orchestra level and 254-seats in the balcony level. There were side-slips containing seats on both sides of the balcony extending along the side walls. It was designed by architects Ernst Moritz Lesser & T. Karsten. It was taken over by the Ufa chain in 1921 and renamed Ufa Theater Friedrichstrasse. They operated it until 1936 when it was taken over by an independent operator and renamed Bavaria Kino. It was destroyed by Allied bombs in 1943.

A 5-storey office building now stands on the site.
